Airbnb Adventurers
Make Connections, Make Memories
This brief was a D&AD competition entry. The task was to use Airbnb to create a way to help combat loneliness in young people and help them to form new and meaningful connections. From this, I made Airbnb Adventurers. An app designed to help create those connections through sets of challenges based on activities in your area at the time, whether local or abroad.
The Outcome
The Process
After confirming your location, the app asks the user to select a challenge deck. Each deck carries team based challenges to complete with your team. The decks are catered to your location and rewards are based on the chosen deck.
After choosing your deck, the user has the option to team up, either with friends, or with new people to form those new connections.
The app matchmakes the user with a team of people looking to complete a similar deck of challenges. The app also arranges a meeting point within close range to all team members. By finding a team of similar interests, Airbnb Adventurers makes it easy for you to break the ice.
After completing challenges and decks, teams earn rewards that provide discount for other activities nearby. So you can make even more memories with your team. To complete challenges a team member must submit photo evidence of the challenge being complete. Using AI the app determines the outcome and then stores all the images in the gallery for the user to look back on.
